What to Expect

Your First Sunday

Visiting a church for the first time can feel a little intimidating, but we want you to feel right at home. At Union Avenue Christian Church, you don’t need to dress a certain way, know all the answers, or have everything figured out. Come as you are, bring your questions, and know there’s a place for you here.

When We Gather

Join us on Sunday mornings!

Coffee Fellowship begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by Worship at 10:00 a.m. Whether you’re coming for the first time or returning after a while, we’d love to see you.

What is Worship Like?

Our worship services are traditional, with a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Music is an important part of our time together. Some Sundays you’ll hear our choir, while other Sundays our pastor and his wife share their musical gifts. Each service is an opportunity to worship, reflect and grow together in faith.

What Should I Wear?

Come as you are! Some people dress up, while others prefer something more casual. There’s no dress code here. We care much more about welcoming you than what you’re wearing.

What About Children?

Children are always welcome at Union Avenue Christian Church! Most Sundays, children remain with their families during worship. On the fourth Sunday of each month, following our “Just for Kids” moment, children are invited to join two teachers for Kid’s Church on the 2nd floor.

We also have a nursery available on the 2nd floor for families who may need a quieter space. Although the nursery is not currently staffed, a television monitor allows families to see and hear the worship service while they’re there.

Where Do I Go When I Arrive?

Our main entrance is located on Harrison Street, where there are two steps leading up to the sidewalk before you head towards the building. Parking is also available in the lot behind the church with access to the Harrison Street entrance.

For visitors who prefer a shorter walk, wish to avoid steps or need wheelchair access, parking and an additional entrance are available on the west side of the church, between our building and Plummer Funeral Home. This entrance has no outdoor steps, although a little maneuvering may be needed just inside the doorway.

Wherever you enter, we’re glad you’re here!
